PROMOTION OF RURAL OPPORTUNITIES THROUGH PARTNERSHIPS, ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND LINKAGES (PROPEL)– The PROPEL Project aims to address poverty among smallholder farmers in Kenya by tackling three critical gaps: low production due to various factors, lack of market access leading to spoilage of produce, and reliance on rainwater causing production challenges during droughts. Rather than relying on traditional cooperative models, the project proposes a private initiative, the TRG Foundation, to secure funding from private investors, donors, and farmers themselves.

The project includes initiatives to increase farmer earnings through improved production, market access, and value addition. It plans to register and support thousands of farmers in various counties, introducing a peer-to-peer ridesharing app for transportation and establishing warehouses for efficient produce grading and distribution. Additionally, the project aims to enhance production through farmer training and soil fertility clinics, while also implementing irrigation systems to combat drought conditions.
